12th March 2021

This week I have mainly been working on a new project we started in Core Principles to review 3 games. We started this on Monday and I worked on it through Core Principles and Maths, since we've covered everything in maths now. The reviews need to be 1000 - 1500 words each and incorporate all the analysis skills we have been using in project 2. In programming we copied code again, this time making a student record system in C++, hopefully when we go back to college next week and with help from Codecademy I can get a lot better to understand what's actually happening. There isn't much we can do in VFX but this week we were given a task in Photoshop to make an explosion behind a horse, which I didn't get very far through because I hadn't used photoshop in a while and was struggling with pretty much everything, like aligning the horse and then cutting out a good outline. Thankfully we will be back at college to work on our projects next week so I can put something on my Wix page. On Tuesday we continued with the concept art project, this week we tried silhouetting again which I'm not very good at especially when working in photoshop with a mouse. I might try using a drawing tablet when we go back to college. In Animation I learned about using physics and massfx to make a falling ball that interacts with objects realistically. I also tried exporting a video for the first time which was quite problematic and required a few settings changed but managed to get an okay looking video. On Thursday in Games dev i started watching a Substance Painter tutorial series which I am to take notes from and then maybe follow along with after. In 3D I tried working on my axe model UVW again and had made nearly no progress with it so I've decided to work on other models before coming back to that one in hopes of learning more about unwrapping. This crossed over into study skills where i then tried to find a good modelling tutorial to follow but had no luck.
