This week I focused on a variety of things like finishing my 2D animation project and my art essay as well as doing a mock exam. On Thursday in Josh's lesson I manged to finish off my 800 word Art essay and then work some more on my Viking Shield 3D model, which shouldn't take me much longer to complete the modelling phase. My aim is to have it nearly ready for texturing by the next lesson but I haven't had much spare time to spend on it. I also had 3D modelling with Franck where we had to watch videos on creating high poly models, which were actually quite helpful, I wrote notes on parts I though I should remember in the lesson log. On Friday I manged to spend the whole day working on my 2D animation, since I don't have any lessons I finally finished it. I was happy with the animation and manged to get it to 30 seconds using most of the ideas I had originally. One slight problem I found was that when I exported the video it didn't look as good as in animate, it was slightly blurry and felt a little faster than it should but overall wasn't too bad. On Monday I had a mock exam during Core principles and Maths. I didn't find the exam too hard but it definitely highlighted some areas I need to improve on, for example it has been a year since I've had to do algebra and equations and since we haven't covered it yet id completely forgotten what to do. Later I had programming and VFX with Rob where we didn't do too much except listen to Rob going through a PowerPoint and then discussing things we can do in VFX which was similar to last week. Luckily now that I'm caught up with a lot more stuff and we have a half term coming up I should finally have some time to experiment with the programming websites I've been told could help. Today in Art we were told everything we have to do for our new Art essay which has to be longer than the last one, so that wasn't a joyous moment. Thankfully ill have multiple lessons to plan and write it. Finally we had animation where we watched Franck give another demonstration on 3D animation in 3DS Max. A lot of what was going on was a bit quick for me but he did record the full thing so ill be able to go back and take it slow. I'm not sure if the task for doing a bouncing ball still stands from the first demonstration but I'm sure ill be able to practice something over the half term.
