This week I mainly focused on finishing my art essay. On Monday we had a Wix session for Core Principles and Maths where I mainly focused on updating my animation page for my 2D project, adding the parts for the plan and storyboard. In Programming we copied a new code for Tic Tac Toe but this time versus a computer. I'm still not sure about what everything in the code does or means but I am getting more familiar with writing it and the different symbols used. I have started using Codecademy as well as my lessons to hopefully help me understand it more. On Tuesday we started a new project in art which was to do with concept designing which I should enjoy as its one of the things I wanted to learn more about when picking the course. First I chose a story and whether I wanted to do a character or landscape, I chose to do a character in the post apocalyptic story. Then I wrote a few ideas down before creating a mood board filled with lots of reference images which I will then need to draw from next lesson. In animation we had some more tasks in 3DS Max. I did a mechanical arm that would pick up and move a ball using link constraints and making gears turning using wire parameters. I'm enjoying these tasks we have, even if some are quite difficult or complicated I can see the end result. On Thursday in Games dev since id finished the Viking shield, Josh looked over my Wix site to see if there was anything I could do and said I should try working on the UVW for my Axe model I made a while ago, since I struggled and gave up with it. After him explaining everything I had to do I tried to give it a go in the 3D modelling lesson, where we could work on our own models. I found it a lot more difficult in practice then just watching and after getting some more help from Franck only got the first part near completion. Ill have to give it another go when I next have Game dev with Josh or just start working on a new model. The UVW took up most of the time from study skills as well but that's fine as id finished the equal tasks.
